Made Invaders
Made Invaders is a live-action arcade game; essentially a mix of Space Invaders and Time Crisis where players use foam dart guns to hit as many of the lit up, animated LED targets as they can in 30 seconds.
With hidden easter eggs tipping the hat to other classic games, it's a fun and interactive way to get to grips with what sensor technology can be used for.
The best part of our job is that we get to create and use technologies that make people's lives better. Sometimes it does that through making life easier, or tasks faster; sometimes it's about connecting people and creating relationships; and sometimes, as is the case with Made Invaders, it's just about putting a smile on people's faces.
Shooting at custom made and designed targets, to the background of specially composed music, players compete to get the highest score they can. With different scores awarded for each target, players can keep watch as their total is displayed on the overhead scoreboard. Can they figure out the hidden cheats? Work out the loopholes? Or just be a good enough crack shot to break the top of the leaderboard? And if not, can they at least be good enough to beat their friends?
We're rightfully proud of an awful lot of work that has come out of Defproc but I don't think anything has made as many people quite as happy as Made Invaders, and, quite frankly, that's probably the greatest compliment you can pay any piece of work.
